It's not quite as old as the Kentucky Derby, and yet it IS a sporting event. How many on this board are dog owners who plan on watching?? (They are looking to introduce 6 new breeds that became AKC recognized this year!) :icon_cheesygrin:
I watch it every year for two reasons: 1. If you are really into dogs, this is the best of the best of all breeds and they are impressive. 2. Love to watch the judges and how serious some of them are. Some of them are 90 years old and so serious about it they act like they're performing brain surgery on the President.
Well, you can watch it again. The Kennel Club dumped Pedigree. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/11/nyregion/westminster-dog-show-parts-ways-with-pedigree-a-longtime-sponsor.html
Just love how the gentleman announcing the event declared after the win..."It's owner will be retiring Malachy". Going out on top, baby. That's what all true athletes strive for, even if they're only 11 pounds!
