Oh Lord, I don't wish to get into pubescent rants about gossip and drama regarding coaches...I'm a PAC-10 girl and not used to drama from men. I'm here to talk football. I happened upon this site because I receive google alerts on a number of our former players....this site came up, of course....an ill-informed post based on little knowledge and incorrect information brought me here. Don't worry boys, I can take the heat.
Have to make a trip out to NY to see our Stevie play....great guy, great player at USC. Not going to wear a Giant's jersey though, lol. I'll wear his USC #2. Ooops, forgot T2 plays for NY as well!
Smith without a doubt is going to be a special player in the NFL. He is clutch on thrid downs outside of Wes Welker. He's probably the best receiver to come out of USC since Keyshawn Johnson. T2 made great strides in his second season in Big Blue, leading the team last season with 5 interceptions. I expect him to hold off Aaron Ross for the starting right corner job in camp this summer.
Stevie made the most amazing catches with us, and it's nice to see that his "clutch" plays have translated to the NFL. I don't know if you've ever seen this, but watch this video at the beautiful catches he made in the NC vs Oklahoma... I remember watching some of the 2005 Orange Bowl. All were spectacular catches. Especially at 1:52, Smith has translated his game to the pro level nicely. Smith shattered our franchise record in receptions last season and became the only Giant wide receiver to reach the 90 and 100 reception mark. And was a key factor in the playoffs in our Super Bowl run two years ago. Along with Hakeem Nicks, they will become of the NFL's best 1-2 combination's before long. Nicks brings the big play ability while Smith is the chain mover and both can make catches over the middle.
How can you be a Pac10 girl and not be used to drama from men unless the only men you talk to live in SoCal. Good to have another female on the site, enjoy!!
