Fined $40,000 for extending his middle finger at officials, Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil has apologized for his actions. He issued the following statement today on the Titans' web site. “I want to apologize to the NFL, organization, fans and my family for my gesture yesterday," Cecil said. "It was inappropriate and there is no excuse for that type of behavior under any circumstance.â€￾ Titans coach Jeff Fisher addressed the situation during his Monday news conference. Fisher said that Cecil won't be suspended. "He has been fined, and that's the end of it," Fisher said. Fisher has talked with Cecil about the incident. "It was a heat of the battle thing," Fisher said. "Clearly Chuck is an emotional individual, it was a heat of the battle thing and he got frustrated and he understands he has to maintain his composure. And we move on. We’ve moved on."
