The Tennessee Titans got to 53 players by releasing last year's primary starting center Fernando Velasco on Saturday. The decision to cut Velasco, who lost out to Rob Turner and Chris Spencer for the final offensive line spot, came hours after the Titans had made 11 other moves to trim the roster to 54 players. Tennessee also placed return man Marc Mariani on injured reserve as one of those moves. Other players cut Saturday included last year's special teams captain Tim Shaw and third-string quarterback Rusty Smith. Also released were eceiver Rashad Ross, defensive tackle Stefan Charles, linebacker Jonathan Willard, tight end Jack Doyle, rookie sixth-round cornerback Khalid Wooten, fullback Collin Mooney, safety Corey Lynch and linebacker/defensive end Scott Solomon, who was a seventh-round pick in 2012.
