Tennessee Titans safety Michael Griffin is appealing the $21,000 fine the NFL levied on him for his block Sunday on New York Jets receiver Stephen Hill. Griffin turned from defender to blocker on Hill and leveled him following Alterraun Verner's first-quarter interception against Geno Smith. It's hard to have to throw out your instincts but if you don't the league will make you pay. I thought the hit was shoulder to shoulder but the NFL makes the final decisions.
