Chris Johnson didn’t exactly say it, but it was easy to read between the lines when he talked about the change at offensive coordinator this week. The three-time Pro Bowl running back isn’t upset because the Titans fired Chris Palmer and promoted Dowell Loggains. Like a number of other offensive players, he’s optimistic about what Loggains could bring to the game plan. Johnson believes the move could even help him return to his 2009 form, when he rushed for 2,006 yards under then-coordinator Mike Heimerdinger. “I just think when Dowell was here the years when I first got here, he was up under Coach Heimerdinger, and for him to sit back there and study and watch the types of things Heimerdinger did with me, and how he got me involved in the game plan … ,†Johnson said. “Now we just have to go out there and see how the games go.†This season he has 942 yards in 11 games, putting him on pace for 1,370, which would be the second-best total of his career. “I think Dowell is more of a type of coach who will come to the sideline and ask me what type of plays I like. What’s going well? What do I want to try and run?†Johnson said. “I feel like once we get into games, I might like a play or I might want him to try a play and he probably would run it.†Source: The Tennessean
