Tennessee Titans strong safety Bernard Pollard tweeted this morning that the NFL has fined him $42,000 for his hit on Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson during Sunday’s game. Johnson suffered a concussion on the play, which came late in the fourth quarter of the Texans’ 30-24 overtime victory over the Titans at Reliant Stadium. Johnson hauled in a 21-yard pass at the 2-yard-line where he was double covered by Titans cornerback Jason McCourty and Pollard, who knocked Johnson out of bounds and out of the game. A source told ESPN that Pollard was fined for hitting a defenseless receiver in the head with his shoulder. The league doesn’t announce fines until Friday. According to ESPN, Pollard will appeal the fine. Source:Ultimate Texans
