Todd Haley wants to return to Arizona to work for the Cardinals and the Cardinals are interested in having him back, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, however, it is becoming more obvious everyday that this reunion is unlikely to happen. Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhut is happy with current offensive coordinator Mike Miller and does not believe a "major shakeup" of his staff would be in the best interest of the team. Haley would therefore have to accept the lesser position of quarterbacks coach, which is a major comedown from being head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Haley would be perfect for the role but Miller could perceive Haley as a threat rather than an ally. Somers says it would be best for all concerned for Haley to look for an OC job elsewhere, perhaps for one of the teams that does not yet have a head coach.
