Patriots QB Tom Brady said Wednesday that he approached Colts QB Peyton Manning after he suffered a staph infection in his comeback from October 2008 knee surgery. Manning had a similar ailment as he recovered from a surgery in July 2008 to remove an infected bursa sac from his knee. "That is a true story," Brady told reporters. "I called him and I said, 'Tell me about your knee and what you went you went through.' He provided a little bit of insight. He was very encouraging. Always has been. He's just that kind of a guy. He's a very classy guy." Manning told reporters he shared some of his experiences with Brady. "I told him some of the things I was doing to treat it." Manning said, "and some things I was doing with there."

I talked to Brady's dad a couple of years ago, and found out then that they were friends. Was a shock to me with all the media BS floating around.
