Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo won't make any predictions for the upcoming NFL season, but admitted that the Super Bowl is the team's goal. "I think everybody who lines up and plays this game envisions every season that they play where they'd like to be at the end of the year," Romo said. "You wouldn't be the competitor or have that attitude if you didn't think your team had a chance or individually you would have a chance to play in a Super Bowl one day. That's the way we line up every time we go out to work in the 100 degree heat. That's why we do all those things in the off-season so that one day you can play in that." Romo continually talks about the "process" and the "journey" a team or individual has to take each year to be successful. "Expectations are predominately because you've done something right at some point," Romo said, "so if they think you have a chance, then you've probably shown people that it's possible. There's a lot of work to be done and we have a long way to go, but it was a good start today. I know this, I feel like a kid who just went to summer camp when you go play basketball or football. It's all just really fun and enjoyable." Source: Dallas Morning News
I think Matt Stafford has a goal to win a Super Bowl, Tim Tebow has a goal to win the Super Bowl...the list goes on...lol. But I'm betting they've got a couple baby steps along the way. Romo's done most of the "baby steps."
Last year, IMO the goal was to win a freakin' play-off game. Doing it against the Eagles made it even sweeter. Now, with the monkey off our backs, we can go all the way. No more "happy to be here" attitude come the Divisional games
I honestly think getting annihilated helps, kinda like in 1991. I hope the Giants step back up this year, and the Eagles dont fall off as much as some think. If we want a legit run, we need that rugged schedule
yes, the cowboys feel like they are ready to take the final step and it's obvious from their lack of moves in the off-season. they like the roster and coaching staff in place.
Witten said the exact same thing in an interview today that the goal is the Super Bowl but there are a lot of goals to accomplish on the way to winning a Super Bowl.
