Tracy Porter Says Saints Still Feared Peyton Manning After Key Interception

Discussion in 'New Orleans Saints' started by BigBlueBruiser, Feb 8, 2010.

  1. The interception that Saints cornerback Tracy Porter returned for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLIV gave the Saints a 31-17 edge with 3:12 to play. But that was too much time for Porter to feel secure with Colts QB Peyton Manning operating on the opposite side of the ball. "When we got inside of 2 minutes, I knew we were going to win the game," Porter said. "I didn't want to take anything for granted. I knew we still had about 3 minutes to go in the game and we had to go back out there, but once we got the fourth down stop in the red zone with 55 seconds left, then I knew we were winning the game."

I did too, I'm not gonna lie. It was great he didn't manage that TD afterwords (even though it would have made my Super Bowl score prediction very close :icon_cheesygrin:)
