Travis Hafner Will Undergo Arthroscopic Surgery

Travis Hafner will undergo arthroscopic surgery Tuesday on his right shoulder.
It's still unclear exactly what is wrong in Hafner's shoulder, but since he's nowhere near 100 percent after so much time off, surgery seems like the right option. Dr. James Andrews will explore the problem area and fix what needs fixing.

Surgery on Travis Hafner's shoulder Tuesday revealed no structural damage.
We're not sure that's good news. Hafner did have his shoulder joint cleaned out, which could at least temporarily take care of the pain he's dealt with. Still, it would have been more encouraging if Dr. James Andrews found a legitimate problem that would have been responsible for changing Hafner from one of the game's most feared hitters into a massive liability in the middle of Cleveland's lineup.
