In the least surprising development of the 49ers regular season home finale, there are reports two people tried to steal a pair of seats from Candlestick Park. New to Niners Nation? Sign up here and join the discussion! The San Francisco 49ers played their regular season home finale at Candlestick Park Monday evening, and celebrated what was likely the final game at the stadium. The 49ers have a shot at hosting a playoff game (or two) there, but if they don't host, Monday marked the final event before the stadium is demolished. As the 49ers have celebrated the close of Candlestick Park, they have worked in conjunction with the San Francisco Parks & Recreation department to sell stadium seats. Seats are currently available for $649 for a pair (current discount until 1/2/14 with code GO49ERS). That has struck many as a bit overpriced, and it will be interesting to see how many get sold. Monday evening, two people decided they were going to get creative. They apparently attempted to remove the seats from the stadium. Unfortunately for them, SFPD was on the case, and able to foil them! SFPD says the two guys draped Niners clothes over the seats and tried to walk them out of Candlestick. Plan foiled. pic.twitter.com/iOD69A8bOV — Will Kane (@WillKane) December 24, 2013 SFPD have arrested two men on suspicion of carrying these two chairs out of Candlestick: pic.twitter.com/GOZO2xESIJ — Will Kane (@WillKane) December 24, 2013 How did they remove them? We don't have specifics, but I heard a rumor that someone on Reddit posted an Amazon.com gift bundle that provided the necessary tools to remove seats. I have not been able to find this, but it would not surprise me at all. Either way, this is one of the least surprising developments from Monday evening. Source: Continue reading...
