USC quarterback Matt Barkley isn't necessarily leaving college for the NFL despite submitting a request for an NFL evaulation according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN. Barkley and his family will meet tomorrow with USC head coach Lane Kiffin and athletic director Pat Haden to discuss his future. He needs to stay. I'm no draft guru like EVERYONE else on GIF but, I think one more year will do this kid a lot of good. And USC will be relevant again next year.
This is a double edge sword. I mean if he stays and produces again, then he could be #1 overall. But he also could tank and fall big time. This year he should be picked in the top 10.
with the new rookie cap, more and more guys will be staying in school longer to try and increase their draft stock.
He will be a top 5 pick if he goes and a top 5 pick if he stays. Dude is MEGA TALENTED. It always helps to stay but I'm not sure that he will.
good decision here. I like it because 4 year qb's do better, he will have a chance at a great bowl, and mist if his talented players are back.
4 year QB's do better? Did Matt Leinart tell you that? I don't think you can throw a blanket statement like that out there. It all just depends on where he ends up.
Barring some catastrophe like the majority of his o-line getting injured in preseason, he won't tank.
