Vernon Gholston Among Five Players Waived By Bears

    The Chicago Bears waived defensive end Vernon Gholston. Gholston registered just one tackle in three preseason games after signing with the Bears July 29. The 6-3, 262-pounder was selected by the New York Jets with the sixth overall pick in the 2008 draft. But he was released in March after failing to record a sack in three seasons. Also waived by the Bears Monday were fourth-year defensive tackle Tank Tyler and three undrafted rookie free agents: quarterback Trevor Vittatoe, center J.C. Brignone and linebacker Tanner Antle.

    So they haven't released Chester yet huh?

    No. The early reports were false. The link was actually taken down and switched to a "Taylor hasn't been traded" story.
