Unable to find a new NFL job despite making it to eight Pro Bowls, veteran center Kevin Mawae is retiring. According to TitanInsider, Mawae, 39, has scheduled a 4 p.m. press conference to announce that he'll retire after 16 seasons. Mawae has questioned whether his job as president of the NFL Players Association caused NFL teams to collude against offering him a job. Mawae made the Pro Bowl last season

Dude was one of the best, but when it's time, it's time.

  3. I think he may have been forced to...but we'll never know whether he really was blackballed because of his position with the NFLPA.

    HOF in my book....
