Veteran FS Darren Sharper Mulling Multiple Options On Free Agent Market

Discussion in 'NFL General Discussion' started by BigBlueBruiser, Aug 5, 2011.

  1. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network is told by a league source that veteran FS Darren Sharper is mulling multiple options on the free-agent market. The Saints remain interested in Sharper, who has had a lengthy conversation with at least one other club, according to the source. Sharper may have the opportunity to get more playing time elsewhere, but the Saints have a chance to win a Super Bowl and he has a strong relationship with coaches and teammates in New Orleans. Sharper, who joined the Saints as a free agent in 2009, was limited to eight games last season after major offseason knee surgery.

I'd like him back. He's a leader on the defense, and very good when healthy.
