#1 Bears 24, Cardinals 23 Oct. 16, 2006, University of Phoenix Stadium The Bears committed six turnovers and scored three points on offense, yet they found a way to overcome a 20-point halftime deficit and announce to a "Monday Night Football" audience this would be a special season in Chicago. No game epitomized the refuse-to-lose mindset of the '06 Bears than this one. Dennis Green was right but for the wrong reasons: The Bears are who we thought they were. Defining play: Somehow, Devin Hester returned a punt 83 yards for a touchdown with 2 minutes, 58 seconds left to give the Bears a lead nobody thought was possible. Yes indeed!! Beating the superbowl champs is one of my favorties too, especially when it's the Steelers. :applausec:
Yeah, I loved all those games but can't argue with #1. "The Bears are who we thought they were and we let em off the hook! Now if you want to crown them, then crown their ass!" Classic Dennis Green, lol!
I would be pissed too if I were Green. Up 23-3 damn near the end of the 3rd quarter before Mark Anderson strips the ball from Matt Leinart's hands for Mike Brown to pick up in the end zone for a TD.
