Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports reports that an already frosty relationship between Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre has grown cooler during the team's 1-2 start. Despite the head coach hitching his wagon to Favre, there are reports that the 40-year old quarterback doesn't have a great deal of respect for Childress' offensive mind or play-calling. According to Silver's sources inside the Vikings' locker room, Childress has questioned Favre's decision to change the plays at the line of scrimmage, as well as Favre's commitment to the team. Audibles are one thing, but when the head coach applies zero pressure to the quarterback to attend the off-season workouts, or the start of training camp, and had to send the players' three closest friends on the team to Mississippi to retrieve/guilt him into coming back for a 20th season, and add a few million dollars to the player's salary, it's borderline laughable to question that players' commitment to the team when the team gets off to a slow start. Then again, had Childress questioned Favre's commitment to the team before mid-August, Favre likely would've remained in Hattiesburg.
