Ryan Longwell's days of kicking in Minnesota are over. The Vikings announced Monday they had cut him. "Ryan has meant a great deal to the Vikings organization both on and off the field over the past six seasons. We wish him all the best in the future and thank him for his service to the Minnesota Vikings," coach Leslie Frazier said. Longwell's heir-apparent is Blair Walsh, a kicker from the University of Georgia, selected in the sixth round of this year's draft. Longwell is a 15-year veteran who has spent the last six years in Minnesota. He has a career field goal percentage of 83.2, but last season connected on just 78.6 percent. Source: NFL.com
