Vikings Discussing Trade For Redskins QB Donovan McNabb

The Minnesota Vikings are one of a few teams that have had trade discussions with the Washington Redskins about quarterback Donovan McNabb, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. One of the issues with McNabb is working out a restructured contract. The Vikings cannot make a deal with the Redskins if they don't have a deal with McNabb. The Redskins gave up two draft picks last offseason to the Philadelphia Eagles for McNabb, but the quarterback's lone season with the Washington was troublesome. He was benched twice in a 6-10 season, and there were testy exchanges involving his agent, Fletcher Smith, and the team.

McNabb to Minnesota makes sense. With Peterson taking the pressure off McNabb, I feel McNabb can be successful still. But if Peterson goes down, McNabb will sink IMO.

please dont trade for mcnabb...get him if he is released.

 

Doubtful he is released.. They want something in return for McNabb.

 

Would McNabb swallow his pride to be the warm up act for Ponder though? Last thing the Vikings need is another self-absorbed drama queen to derail another season.

Why not...he doesn't have a lot of time left. No matter where he goes he's either going to be the warm up act or the back up. I think he'd rather be the warm up act.

Well....not two sixths but I figured at least a sixth-round pick would be involved.

 

It's a mistake if Vikes trade for DM instead of just picking him up after he gets released!!!
