Brad Childress seems unconcerned about what to some fans appears to be a gaping hole at quarterback if Brett Favre chooses not to return. Do the Vikings really have a long-term plan at quarterback, or is this situation so fluid that even a franchise that appears to be poised to make another Super Bowl run isn't completely sure how things will play out? At the owners meetings in late March, Childress expressed confidence in [Tavaris] Jackson and [Sage] Rosenfels and indicated that if Favre doesn't return, Jackson would have the upper hand in the battle for the starting job heading into training camp. They made a mistake passing on him, I hate Clausen and am an avid T-Jack supporter, but Clausen would've been their best bet. You can't let a 40-year old guy delay you from planning for your future, at most Favre plays one more season.
They are hoping for next year's group of QB's (maybe Luck). They won't finish bad enough for Locker or Mallet (that's a good thing not getting mallet anyway) if Favre comes back.
