The Brad Childress Era in Minnesota is over. The team relieved the head coach of his duties Monday morning, FOXSports.com has learned. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier will take over as the interim head coach. Childress, 54, compiled a 39-35 record in five seasons in Minnesota, including 3-7 this season. The firing comes one day after the Vikings were embarrassed by the Green Bay Packers 31-3, their second loss in a row. Source: Jay Glazer, Fox Sports
Hallelujah!!! I'm not a Brett Favre fan, but Minnesota has looked pretty crapty this year. so long, Childress. Enjoy your cardboard condo.
that would be pretty awesome if he did........ didnt we just see a Childress is safe........... thats more of a tell tale sign your getting canned
Finally...Leslie Frazier gets a shot at being a head coach. This was Childress' first and likely only chance at being a head coach.
If Fraizer gets the gig in 2011....would this change Favre's mind in any way about retiring and giving it another go for a 21st season?
Childress bet on Favre 1 too many times. He would have been SOOOO much better off if he hadn't sent players to beg him to come back. He actually did a good job in Minne until this year....of course that too might have had something to do with Favre.
My guess is that Childress will be the next OC for the NY Jets once Brian Scottenheimer gets a job as HC.
Yep. The Corleone Kiss last night. http://gridironfans.com/forums/latest-nfl-headlines/146324-vikings-coach-brad-childress-appears-safe-now.html
