The Minnesota Vikings released kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd, one of the cuts the team made this afternoon to get down to the 53-man limit. Tight end Garrett Mills and running back Ian Johnson were popular names among those let go. It was previously reported that veteran wide receiver Javon Walker was cut loose after a short stay. Here are the remaining cuts: safety Colt Anderson, guard Thomas Austin, wide receivers Taye Biddle and Frddie Brown, offensive tackles Patrick Brown and Chris Clark, fullback Ryan D’Imperio, wide receiver Marquis Hamilton, defensive tackle Tremaine Johnson, defensive end Mike Montgomery, wide receiver Logan Payne, offensive tackle Drew Radovich, cornerback Marcus Sherels, linebacker Nate Triplett and cornerback DeAndre Wright.

Giants were interested in him at one point, but Tynes' kickoffs have been good through preseason, so I wonder if there is still interest here.

  4. Why not....let Tynes just focus on the field goals.

Lloyd was just probably cut because they didn't really need him....

You must not have seen our special teams...every single game someone is either close to running a kick back or runs one back.

Dat is right. I just did some looking up and Lloyd didn't have a single touchback this preseason after leading the league the year before. All for the best really. Screw carrying two kickers unless really worthwhile.

  7. No...can't say that I have Dat.

    Oh well....heck it.

  8. And yet...you still wanted the Vikings to keep him. :icon_cheesygrin:

Lol, im not going to lie, i did want us to keep him because he had potential. If his big butt sheaded a couple pounds maybe he could have had more room to put his leg into the ball without his gut getting in the way.:icon_cheesygrin:
