Vikings OG Anthony Herrera called Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward selfish after he made comments about Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (concussion) missing the team's Week 12 game. Ward cast doubts about Roethlisberger's toughness for missing the game in an NBC pregame interview. "Hines is being selfish," Herrera said. "Honestly and truly, in our locker room no one questioned my toughness or whether I could play or not. They knew it was a concussion and it was bigger than just football. That's why you see all these [ex-players] right now at 50 years old who are suffering from all kinds of different things. They put football ahead of themselves. That's now how it should be. Hines said he played with a concussion before," said Herrera, a six-year NFL veteran in his third season as a Vikings starter. "We all have. There have been a lot of plays where I've pulled, hit a linebacker and gone back to the huddle like, 'Man, where am I right now?' I finished the game and had no problems, but this is different. well, i think herrera is in the majority on this. there is growing sentiment from fans, players, and even coaches that the long-term issues after football need to be cut down ........... i can't believe i'm saying this, but there's more to life than football ............... ugh, that hurt to say ..............
