The Minnesota Vikings said quarterback Brett Favre has been upgraded to questionable for Monday night's game against the Chicago Bears. Spokesman Bob Hagan says the team will watch Favre throw about two hours before kickoff and decide whether Favre can suit up for the outdoors game at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium. Favre didn't practice all week because of a sprained throwing shoulder. The injury kept Favre out of last week's loss to the New York Giants and ended his NFL-record 297 straight regular-season starts. Rookie Joe Webb is slated to start against the Bears, who can wrap up the NFC North title with a win. Source: Associated Press
I think this is a publicity stunt by the Vikings organization to try to get viewers to tune in to what otherwise is a pretty ho-hum game.
It would be a disaster if Favre tries to play with that shoulder on that field surface at TCF Bank Stadium.
WTF, stay the heck hurt. The only viewing audience is going to be Birmingham, and it's not because we wanna see your old butt play!
If he plays in this game I will gain some lost respect for him. Highly doubt it will happen, but it'd take a man to decide to come back this game given the circumstances.
Why the heck would Favre want to take pain killers to enable him to play tonight on a frozen field with a hecked up body? It's a bovine manure.
