Judd Zulgad reports via Twitter that the Minnesota Vikings have released wide receiver Javon Walker. He played in only three games last season with the Oakland Raiders and has battled knee problems for years. Walker was signed by the Vikings last month as an emergency wide receiver after Sidney Rice's hip surgery. He was productive in the preseason, catching six balls for 119 yards and two touchdowns in two games, including a 63-yard scoring bomb in the exhibition finale.

my guess is that javon will be resigned after week 1, he was plenty productive in the preseason, they probably just don't want him to get a guaranteed contract
