It was just over two weeks ago that Vikings general manager Rick Spielman was at the NFL Combine telling everybody willing to listen that Minnesota had no intentions of trading disgruntled wide receiver Percy Harvin.

Apparently, Spielman’s position has changed. That is, if we’re willing to buy the notion that he wasn’t selling us a load of you-know-what two weeks ago in an attempt to gain some leverage within the market.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Vikings are attempting to trade Percy Harvin and have been in talks with multiple teams. Schefter goes on to name the Seattle Seahawks as a suitor, tweeting that Pete Carroll’s crew is currently the favorite to land the four-year veteran.

first round pick is a pretty sweet deal for the vikings....this is a better move than the hawks giving up a first for deion branch

They are going to have to give him like a $90 million contact though

Glad its over, and it seems like pretty good value for someone who is about to get a huge contract, but now the Vikings have some major work to do in the WR department.
Jarius Wright, Greg Childs, Stephen Burton, and Chris Summers are the only wide receivers under contract. Childs and Summers have never played a down in the NFL. Buron has 7 career receptions for 73 yards and is mostly used as a blocker. Wright is was decent in his 7 games to finish the year. If the Vikings don't bring in 2 quality receivers and one #3 /#4 receiver this off season will be considered a major bust.
