Week 1 Who Do I Start Thread (WDIS)

WDIS threads will be posted every Monday. All game times listed are EST, the world's time zone.

Please post any roster questions for week 1 in this thread.
Not sure who to start? Post your questions here. Please do not ask to have your entire lineup filled out for you.

All posts must contain the following information for you to get the best answer:

    * Include your league scoring for the players in question.
    * How many do you start at that position?
    * Who are they playing?

    For example:
WDIS Ricky Williams vs NYJ or DeAngelo Williams @ SD. My other starter is Marion Barber.
We start 2 RBs and get 20yds/pt rushing and receiving, td/6pts.

    I'll start this thing.

WDIS at flex, 20yd/pt rush, 15yd/pt receiving, td/6pt
Ernest Graham @ NO or Lendale White vs JAX

    earnest graham. he's a beast.

I would also start Graham, because I think Jacksonville's defense is better than New Orleans.

I don't think this is as easy a decision as you would think. I would initially go with Earnest Graham, but the fact that Warrick Dunn started the last preseason game, I don't think it is out of the question that he will take carries away from Graham. They've both been taking equal number of snaps with the first team so I'm thinking Graham isn't the "feature" back we all thought he would be. I have no doubt he will get more carries and a bulk of the work and the goalline carries, but I'm not feeling his production from last year.

I think the exact situation is in hand for LenDale White. Johnson is going to be a monster in this league. He's fast and a huge playmaker. He no doubt will take a lot of carries from LenDale.

I think I'd still go Graham over White...based on the opponent...

I think I'd go with Graham to WR.

    I've got a couple.....ppr, 6pt TD's 1 pt 10 yds recieving.
David Patten vs Tampa Bay or Patrick Crayton at Cleveland

    also a flex position 1pt 10 yds rush 1pt 10 yds rec 6 pt TD's
Ricky Williams vs Jets or Ronnie Brown vs Jets

Crayton - Patton may be the second WR, but he is at least the 4th option on that pass attack.

and I could never recommend Sticky Ricky ever

    Crayton and Ricky

Although Ricky's recent injury history ain't much better, Ronnie is coming off a serious injury and he's in the 'I'll believe it when I see it' category for me. At least for week 1.

I agree with MO on the reasons for Crayton.

well guys, i know everyone has questions on a couple guys each week so i thought i'd start this thread for people to get opinions on any players decisions.

this week i have one. the qb position.

i have eli manning tonight vs. the redskins at home or carson palmer playing at baltimore.

I would pick palmer ed reed might not play and palmer has the better receivers.

Admittedly I am biased but I would go with Carson. Eli's likely not gotten any rhythm yet and he is an INT machine early in the season

  13. TJ

    TJ Dez Caught It

I have both Jon Kitna and Carson Palmer in one of my teams.

I know Palmer is a must-start every week, but I'm really tempted to start Kitna on week 1 against the Falcons. What do you guys think?

Still start palmer how can you not with ocho cinco and housh. The bengals have no running game so they will throw alot.

that could go against a qb as well.

i did look up palmers stats against the ravens and they are pretty impressive but he had a running game behind him.

Eli and Carson are both very close. Statistically the Bengals WRs are better but both CJ and Hous are hurting. We just don't know at this point how it will affect them. Not that the NYG's wrs are any healthier. How is Burress really? All the WRs in question have declared themselves ready to play but what does that mean. Of course they're gonna say that. In FF I love QBs in divisional matchups. It brings out their best and both these games are divisional. Crap, I'd go Carson because its week 1 and why the heck not. If his WRs are healthy they're better than the Giants'.

    that's the way i am leaning. i just hope manning doesn't blow-up.

gotta go with Carson, he owns the Ravens and now actually has a TE on the team to help spread the ball through the air. The Ravens secondary is garbage right now and they are starting a rookie QB that will likely lead to TO's and more opportunities for the offense.

So far so good. Eli didn't do much in the opener.
