Week 3 Who Do I Start Thread (WDIS)

WDIS threads will be posted every Monday. All game times listed are EST, the world's time zone.

Please post any roster questions for week 3 in this thread.
Not sure who to start? Post your questions here. Please do not ask to have your entire lineup filled out for you.

All posts must contain the following information for you to get the best answer:

    * Include your league scoring for the players in question.
    * How many do you start at that position?
    * Who are they playing?

    For example:
WDIS Ricky Williams vs NYJ or DeAngelo Williams @ SD. My other starter is Marion Barber.
We start 2 RBs and get 20yds/pt rushing and receiving, td/6pts.

MJD has 30 yards rushing total after 2 games. Even still I'd rather start a RB over at WR at flex any day of the week.

    Cletusaurus YES! YES! YES!

Well... standard scoring rules (10 yards/1 point, TD/6 points):

I've got Brandon Marshall vs. New Orleans, Wes Welker vs. Miami, DeSean Jackson at Pittsburgh, and Andre Johnson at Tennessee. Common knowledge would say reserve Jackson... but I don't know.

and I can't believe my QB options are J.T. O'Sullivan and JaMarcus the Hutt...

Houston just went through some rough crap with the hurricane. With a week off too they could be rusty. Jackson is hot with 2 100 yard games in a row. Tough call.

I have Steven Jackson (Stl) vs. Seattle Rushing D ranked 7(NFC) 99.5 yds per game (@Sea)
and Selvin Young (Den) vs. NO D ranked 14(NFC) 147.5 yds per game (@Den)

Jackson has been under performing, but is the primary back for SL (projection 10pts)
Selvin Young has been alternating with 3 other backs (but I don't think that will continue much longer) at home (projection 4 pts).

I'm leaning towards Young simply because NO passing defense is also ranked 15th in the NFC and I think once Denver has a big lead they will try to pound the rock to kill the clock. I'm not sure the logic of the 3 back rotation other than one of them to grow a sack of balls and step up and say "it's mine". I have a gut feeling that one of them will start getting the majority soon with the others rotating. You can't keep everyone happy.

But on the other hand, the StL owner issued an ultimatum to the team and coaches this week, and under performers will be dealt with in short order. That tends to motivate players and coaches significantly. Jackson has got the physical attributes most backs dream about... just no heart...

I would sit Johnson. Tennessee actually has a pretty good pass D. Pittsburgh's pass D looked pretty suspect Sunday night, even in horrible weather. From what I saw Pitt won't be able to hang with Phili this week, which is why I don't give much credit to the projections. They only have Westbrook projected for 14 this week... ?? ... When the week started my projection was 89... my final was 133... JMHO..

Marshall/Jackson/Johnson IMO. Until Matt Cassell proves he can get the ball to them, NE wideouts are not very valuable IMO, and in a non-ppr league, Welker doesn't get the yards to be a big scorer usually anyway. DeSean is hot and looking like McNabb's favorite target right now. Marshall needs no explanation. I don't care about the week off and whatnot, Johnson's a beast. All 3 of those guys could go well over a bill apiece and a score or two, no problem.
Don't be so quick to crap on JTO, you see his stats last week - 321 and a touchdown, no picks? That was against a better than decent Seahawks D as well, and he's got Detroit this week. Detroit.

Oh PS, BuffG, projections don't mean crap. Disregard them.

who should i pick this week ? And while u are in here roethlisberger or favre

  14. Garnett

    Garnett Gritt Tuff

Whoa, that's tough b/c of matchups.

Though Desean is due for a slow down game, I still say him and Jericho Cotchery. I'm just not sure how much Rivers/Chargers will target Vincent Jackson. Everyone's been hoping for consistency from him, but its not showing up in the numbers yet.

Now for 1 of my dilemna's:

Standard scoring plus partial points for carries:

    Edge James @ Washington
    Jonathon Stewart @ Minnesota

Standard Scoring plus PPR, 3 of 5
    Wes Welker vs Miami
    Calvin Johnson @ SF
    Anthony Gonzalez vs Jax
    Torry Holt @ Seattle
    Lav Coles @ SD

Now for Dilemna's in League 2
Standard scoring in this league no PPR or partial points for carries

    RBs 2 of 5:
    Willie Parker @ Philly
    Steven Jackson @ Seattle
    Chris Johnson vs Houston
    Jonathon Stewart @ Minnesota
    Kevin Smith @ SF
^^^ Parker's a definate, but I'm leaning to Johnson over Steven Jackson. I need a lot of input here.

Finally, should I drop Jon Kitna for Brett Favre in a standard scoring system for league 2 as my back up.

Ah shucks, NFL.com suggest sitting both Jamal Lewis and Ronnie Brown this week... Two RBs of mine!

So, regular scoring... Which two should I start from Jamal Lewis, Ronnie Brown, Felix Jones, Jerious Norwood or Le'Ron McLain?

  19. Garnett

^^ Who does Cleveland face this week? My other RB maybe Felix Jones along Jamal Lewis.
