Another week, another thread of my formula power rankings. Points Difference taking more of an effect in this current update. Rate 'n' Slate peeps!
I like them. I'd put it a little different. 1. Patriots 2. Steelers 3. Falcons 4. Eagles 5. Packers 6. Ravens 7. Jets 8. Saints 9. Giants 10. Bears Nothing more than opinion...lol.
Pats #1. If they play like they did against the Jets, Atlanta or anyone else couldn't handle them. Bears and Packers games will be good tests to evaluate, if the Jets game was just a fluke.
Pats are in beast mode, but a lot of teams can take their best game of the year and say IF we play like that blah blah blah blah.
Agreed. When it is all said and done to win the SB you have to beat a lot of good teams. That requires more than an offense. If the D can step up like recently for good than they will be hard to stop, but if they regress it could be another one and done for NE. Although I'll say again what I said when it happened, this team is better without Moss!
They've beaten the Ravens, Steelers, Chargers, and destroyed the Jets. I'd say they are proving themselves, but the Bears game is a real good test to see if they carry the momentum or fall back and pull a Cleveland.
bears pats game should set the tone for each team. bears playing some great D and special teams, pats playing like they can score over 30pts at any time.
Having now seen what the Jets can do against a real NFL team I don't know that I could put them in the top 10 - plus I think back to their home shutout to the Packers and their week 1 home loss to Baltimore and I think that communicates pretty clearly that the steak is not on par with the sizzle.
I admire the effort you must be putting in to calculate this, but I thought the purpose of power rankings was that they are a subjective view, rather than just replicating the standings and tweaking them a bit. The point, as I am led to believe, is to take into account 'hot or cold' teams - hence the reason why many have commented that they view the Patriots higher simply because they are hitting their stride. Apologies if I have misconstrued this, while the work done here is admirable, does it not defeat the reason power rankings exist?
