  1. Ian Rapoport of The Boston Herald recently asked Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman whether he knew about Wes Welker's torn rotator cuff injury. “I did not,” Edelman said. “Didn’t know. He’s a tough guy. That’s him. That’s Welker for you.” Edelman, the soon-to-be second-year player is used to being asked about his mentor. "By every person that’s a Patriots fan,” Edelman said. “I’m not really known. I don’t look like a professional football player, but if someone does know, they’ll ask, ‘How’s Wes?’ and all that.” Rapoport also asked if it changed Edelman's mindset for 2010 knowing Welker had suffered another injury, as he works to rehab his knee. “My mindset’s going to stay the same regardless of what happens to anyone,” Edelman said. “I’m out here trying to get myself better, to help contribute to this team the best I can, so whatever Wes’ deal is, it’s his deal. We need him, as soon as he gets back will be great. But I’m worried more about getting better with my techniques and stuff to help this team.”
