Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber became the 21st pitcher in major league baseball to throw a perfect game as he retired all 27 Seattle Mariners he faced in the Chicago White Sox’s 3-0 win on Saturday. The Philadelphia Phillies’ Roy Halladay was the last pitcher to throw a perfect game. He accomplished the feat against the Florida Marlins on May 29, 2010. For the White Sox, Mark Buehrle was the last pitcher to have a perfect game. He was the 18th pitcher in history to throw a perfect game when he did so against the Tampa Bay Rays on July 23, 2009.

I think that last pitch was a ball (didn't swing). Bad call imho.

Watched the ninth. Nothing like that anticipation.

That was a bullcrap call. Is what it is though.

The umpire was caught in the "magical moment" complete bullcrap. Call the damn game right.

Lamest perfect game ever. The ball was a million miles away from the plate and he didn't swing.

Oh my god that is one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Wasn't even close to a swing.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket

I agree it was clear that he checked his swing but as a umpire you gotta give the pitcher that call in that situation

Did you watch the video? Ball is 3 feet wide and the barrel wasn't even close to breaking the plane.

Ask Armando Galarraga if they "have to give him that call"

Yea I agree with mush. You don't completely botch a call just to give a guy his moment.

Gallaraga actually should have had his and he got hecked by a bad call.

And another former Met gets a Perfect Game/No Hitter. Always the brides maid. But in all seriousness. I used to watch this kid pitch in the Mets farm system and he was always a nice guy. Good to see this happen to not David Wells.

Have you seen the Mariners roster this year? Should it really count anyway?

Not if you have integrity. Make the right call, not the popular one.

That just shows anyone can throw a perfect game on any given day.

I would not go that far. Only 21 players have done it. Humber will be in the history books forever.
