Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco already says the Bengals are better than the Ravens according to James Walker of ESPN.com. "We got better than them," Ochocinco said of Baltimore. "They're not better than us. The Ravens? I mean, what have they done? They have some nice draft picks. But we have people that can come in right now and be effective." Then Baltimore's addition of receiver Anquan Boldin was mentioned to Ochocinco. "Yeah, that's my homeboy, but then Anquan Boldin has to go against the No. 4 defense that was ranked last year," Ochocinco replied. "Last time I checked, we destroyed their defense. We added to ours, but we still have the better defense."

i think it's a legitimate argument and not just Ocho talking trash.

However, the Bengals have just as many question marks on offense as the Ravens have on defense so I could see either team being exposed this season and falling back in the pack.

you're just startin' crap, aren't ya?

well, i guess since the steelers won 1 of the 4 matches against them last year, it seems logical the steelers will go 4 for 4 this time ........ :icon_cheesygrin:

the bengals and ravens both look pretty good at this point and you figure pitt is going to stay competitive so i think we're going to see another pretty good afcN race this year ........

the browns beat the steelers for the first time in like 12 years and dixon was starting one raven game....last year dont count lol

all jokes aside i dont think the browns beat any of these teams next year, no way in hell the bengals sweep the steelers again. i actually think if theres a team to fall flat on their face its tem (both games were so heartbreakingly close last year btw) and ravens/steelers games are always so good no matter how good or bad either team is. ive never seen a rivaly where records go out the window completely like that it could be 10-0 vs 0-10 and it would still go to OT

why are you talking about the browns?

i was talking about the steelers going 0-2 vs. the bengals and 1-1 vs. the ravens last year and your joking comment about the steelers going 4-0 against those 2 teams this season.

I think the afcN will be an interesting race because i see all 3 teams (i don't consider the browns in any division championship type conversation) as having potential to have a good year but i also see all 3 as having potential to slip.

how does last season not count?

does this mean I get to say the last 40 years doesnt count for the lions?

yes, sweet, yes. we don't expect you to have to re-live the last 40 years for the lions....... that's something we wouldn't even wish on our worst enemy.

and i think you bring up a good point. there are times when coaches start to get another coach's number and dominate them so I think we have to look at last season's results when looking to what might happen this year because, for the most part, the players and coaches remain in place for the Big 3 in the afc North.

kidding...thought that was kind of obvious

steelers do this though, people are looking wayyyy to far into a bad year. gay got torched, now mcfaddens back. couldnt convert on 3rd and short, drafted pouncey, sured up an already incredible pass rush, getting aaron smith back healthy, getting troy back, mike wallace coming off a great rookie year, mendenhall playing out of his mind last season despite having the worst center and an a terrible RG should tear crap up this year...everything should be better, they finished with a bad record last year but they were in all of those games and the defense (secondary) really blew alot of games

im sayin post leftwich/dixon expect ben to play pissed off and put up some big numbers. im no homer, in fact if i didnt love the steelers so much i would freaking hate them but i think its laughable the way people think they will be drafting in the top 10 next year

I know you were kidding, I wasnt trying to start anything..... simply replying with what would be the joke of..... "That doesnt count"

eh guess I didnt put enough symbols to get my meaning across.............)))(((((^^^%%%#$@%@#$%#)($@#$@#%@#*%@)#$)#*$)#@$*)(#@!%@#$

i know you were referring to the bengals....i brought up the browns because thats how horrid everything was last year. the browns defense sacked ben like 9 times. crap just fell apart mid season

After the way Chad Johnson got undressed in the playoffs I would've expected a little more humility. He gets two cracks at us this year to prove his point so lets wait and see if his money is where his mouth is.

can't even do that. heard he was droppin' 'em in practice the other day.

Look, let's not underestimate the Bengals AGAIN, because we all see what that led to last year. When they got beaten twice by the Jets I said they were soft, but the Jets turned out to be a damn good team. not sayin the bengals are going to dallas, don't even think they'll win the division, but they're not back to being the bungles just because of a couple losses to the jets.

None of this is relevant to anything till the season starts anyway...I love how in the offseason all we do is debate teams, power rankings, rate players, teams, who's better, etc. when it's all pointless come september. it's just about who wins the games.

I'll say right here the steelers will NOT win the north. and my money's on the ravens, call me a homer if you want, but that's what all the analysts are saying anyway, then again they don't know anything anyway, and no one can look at a team in june, august, any month of the offseason and say, this team will do x this season because of whatever. there's a whole long complex season with injuries, division races, turnarounds, etc.

    ^i tend to ramble

yes, the feeling i get in general from the 'analysts' is that they are favoring the Ravens ..................... however, most of the 'analysts' know less about football than most of the people here at GIF.

I don't think anyone can 'favor' any of the top 3 teams in the afcN. Like you say, the long, complex season will play out the way it plays out and we can't predict what's going to happen. The steelers, bengals, and ravens all have talent and are well-coached so anything can happen.
