WR Julian Edleman: Resigning Brady's go to No. 1 receiver was key. Edleman is a poor man's version of Wes Welker (translation: he can do it all).
WR Brandon LaFell: We all know the Patriots need quality veteran depth at the wide receiver position. The Patriots signed former Panthers WR Brandon LaFell this past weekend. LaFell has had an disappointing NFL career. He is a big physical receiver but struggles with consistency and work ethic. Maybe LaFell can get his career on track with the Patriots. We all know that Tom Brady prefers to be on the same page with his receivers.
CB Darrelle Revis: When the Patriots lost corner Aquib Talib in free agency you just knew that coach Belichick was gonna make a significant move. The signing of CB Darrelel Revis goes to show that the Patriots will be back and are out to prove that they are still second best to the Broncos. I know that playoff loss last season to the Patriots left a sour taste in Belichick's mouth. Revis is still one of the best NFL cover corners. Last season in Tampa, Revis was coming off a torn ACL and played reasonably well. The Patriots signed him for a reasonable two year deal. Revis claims to be 100% healthy. So we shall see if the Patriots are getting the Revis of 2011.
CB Brandon Browner: The signing of corner Brandon Browner comes with high risk and high reward. This could end up being a great signing if Browner stays clean. We all know about his past substance abuse with Adderall. Browner is a solid press man physical corner something the Patriots secondary has been needing. The Patriots haven't had a physical press corner since the days of Ty Law. I know Patriots fans can't wait to see the deadly tandem of Revis/Browner. Patriots fans will have to wait til week five of the 2014 season to see this tandem due to Browner serving a four game suspension.
