The annual NFL Scouting Combine was held February 17-23rd in Indianapolis and as always the 40 yard dash was one of the signature events. The 40 yard dash is a great indicator of a player's speed and explosive ability.
Today's NFL is all about speed. However, just because a player runs a great 40 yard dash time does not mean that they are a great football player. But, there are prototype 40 yard dash times for every position that a player needs to run to be a productive football player in the NFL.
