I am shocked! Shocked there is gambling going on here. I was told the Patriots ran a respectful system. One we could always count on. Obviously, I was misinformed.
Are we doomed? What are we now to expect from the football gods? Our value system is was sacrosanct, and now Bob Kraft and Bill Belichick have chosen to defy it.
What's next? Could it be a high-end talent pass rusher like Jared Allen? I mean is the punishment any worse for breaking the rule twice? Please don't smote me bro.
Since there is no way, NO WAY, Humpty Dumpty can be put back together again, at least this year, let's go the whole 9 yards and get the best wide receiver and defensive tackle left on the free agent board also. We'll get a tight end in the draft.
After the wild shopping spree of the Denver Broncos, $12 million and one year for Darrelle Revis sounds like a bargain...a “great value in the new value” system. I can't wait to hear how Bob and Bill characterize this transgression.
When you pump $320 million new money into the salary cap, you can expect some changes to happen. But when Denver set the world on fire in the first day or so signing free agents, and given the competitive nature of a group of billionaire owners, the forces against standing pat (pun intended) for a few days while the worst blew over, were just too much, even for the most disciplined among them.
Imagine the scene:A group of conservative billionaires is at their club bar. They all have a pocket filled with new money and they are having a good time. Then one of their more obnoxious set starts buying up and consuming all the top shelf spirits and having a great time. Whom new Bob had a weakness for that 151 proof stuff and in the frenzy, he came away with it?
Great for him. Who needs Aquib Talib anyway? We got Darrelle. And the report that New York was trying to get him back makes it all the better.
