The simple idea behind quick hits, is to give a nice recap of Bills notes and news going around the league. With that said, let's get started!
Bills on Monday Night?
Rumors have been going around, that the Bills will be receiving a Monday Night Football game to take place at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills last two Monday Night games have been great games, and the fans have shown that Buffalo deserves to host more. The rumored opponent for the Bills would be the Green Bay Packers, which, on paper, looks like it would be a fun game. You would have Aaron Rodgers going against one of the best defenses in the N.F.L., and it would also be E.J. Manuel's first Monday Night game. As of right now, nothing is set in stone, and the Bills apparently have "no idea" about the possibility of the game, but it would make for a fun Monday Night if it were to happen.
Bills on Thanksgiving?
The Bills already will be playing in the Hall of Game this year, and also have been rumored for a Monday Night home game, but it may have hit the tri-fecta. According to BuffaloBills.com, the Bills will be playing on Thanksgiving this year against the Detroit Lions. This would be the first time in 20 years, that the Bills will be playing in front of a national crowd on Thanksgiving, and it's a game a lot of other teams would kill to be in. Fun fact for the day, the last time the Bills played on Thanksgiving, the Lions won 35-21. Hopefully this time around, the odds will be more in favor of the Bills.
Draft Visits
The Bills were rumored to bring in elite OT prospect, Jake Matthews earlier this week. This kind of move doesn't come as a surprise, since the tackle position is a desperate need for the Bills in this years Draft. Matthews is projected to go pretty high in the draft, but could possibly fall to the Bills at number 9. The Bills also reportedly an eye on former LSU quarterback, Zach Mettenberger. Mettenberger has seen his draft stock fall due to a knee injury that he suffered in November, but is projected to be a 2nd round pick. That will make the quarterback position a lot more intriguing if the Bills used a second pick on a quarterback, since they used their first pick on one last year.
Newest Bills
The Bills also made some signings this week, bringing in some new talent. The Bills agreed to a one year deal with defensive lineman Jarius Wynn. Wynn was previously on the Dallas Cowboys, and will try to be making the team this upcoming summer. The Bills brought in a new Punter to add some competition for Brian Moorman. That new punter just happens to go by the name of Jake Dombrowski, who was a first team all Ivy League while playing at Harvard last year.
The hashtag, #PrayersForJK, has been used to show support for Kelly through his treatment.Update on Kelly
Jim Kelly has had a rough time recently, but received some good news earlier this week. Kelly has now completed his first round of chemo, and is still staying strong. Kelly is currently in New York City recieving treatment, while his wife has been constantly updating his status through social media.
That's all the news for this week Bills fans, until next time!
