Disappointed by the last Super bowl? Expecting more of a fight than just watching the Seahawks stomp all over the Broncos, while laughing hysterically? By the time of the last commercial break, did you just wish you could rewind the whole game, and watch a better one? Because this August, you’re going to get your wish.
During the first weekend of August, the Denver Broncos will be taking on the Seattle Seahawks in the Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, from the 7th of August to the 10th. This preseason game will be the first time the two teams have met since the Broncos crushing 43-8 defeat in the 2013 Super bowl, and while it is not a part of the regular season, it could be the right way for the Broncos to gain some momentum after their unfortunate ending last season. For the Seahawks, it could be the way to show that their Super bowl victory was not a one-time deal, but a new wave of domination and victory. Sadly, the game is not scheduled to be televised, but personally, I am nothing but excited to hear about how this turns out.
As one of the many fans who were disappointed by the anticlimactic Super bowl, I can only hope that this rematch takes a few more interesting turns. At best, it could be an interesting look at how a team can change (or not) over a relatively short span of time, and how that can affect a single game. Or at the very least, allows Peyton Manning and the Broncos to start the season will a little more dignity than they had walking away from last season. And after that, anything can happen, for either team.
