High Upside Picks
- Dak Prescott DAL Rankings: 12 The Cowboys have been on a roll since the acquisition of Amari Cooper. A lot of the pressure has been taken off of Prescott and Zeke Elliott has room to run again. This week they face the Saints and their defense can be beaten. I like Dak to meet or exceed expectations as he keeps pace with Brees.
- Baker Mayfield CLE Ranking: 16 It has been a couple of weeks since the Browns had a tough defensive opponent. In spite of that, it has still been very impressive to watch Mayfield improve. Since the firing of Hue Jackson, Mayfield is 9/1 in touchdowns versus interceptions. He also has multiple passing touchdowns in five straight games. This week he faces a legit pass rush in Houston, but he still has a high ceiling.
- Lamar Jackson BAL Rankings: 17 Despite looking overmatched against NFL defenses, Jackson can still deliver starter worthy fantasy numbers. His ability to run keeps defenses on their heels and that is a position that is next opponent, the Falcons, are all too familiar with. I think that his ceiling is about 25 points, but his floor is fairly safe due to the rushing yards and potential rushing touchdowns.
Desperation Heave
Josh Allen BUF Ranking: 22
If the cupboard is bare at quarterback and you have no idea what to do, take a stab with Josh Allen. He has insane physical gifts and is facing a beatable defense in Miami. He has the ability to put up bunches of points with his legs just like Lamar Jackson. The difference is that the Buffalo supporting cast is so bad that Allen's floor is rock bottom. He has the ability to get you 20-25 points, but it could just as easily turn out to be 5. Lots of risk here.
