As I write the Week 13 Waiver Wire Running Backs article, it seems that the the Fantasy Gods have been giving us good fortunes in the running back department. Any other time of the year, you'd have to make a trade to get a possible starter going into Week 13. But a concussion to Zac Stacy may have brought out a new contender for you to pick up.

Benny Cunningham - Rams (Owned Percentage – ESPN .7%/Yahoo 3%)
As a Zac Stacy owner, it kills me to see yet another one of my players go down. Stacy was on fire and, like I predicted last week, was on his way to putting up his best game yet. Then a concussion forced him out in the second quarter against the Bears. Whether he can suit up for Week 13 isn't known, but it appears that the team could roll with Cunningham going forward. Cunningham destroyed the Bears' front 7, shedding tackles and powering his way to 109 yards and a score. Now keep in mind, again, this is the Bears Defense. But, like I wrote in the intro, grabbing potential starters this late in the season is very rare. Whether you are a Stacy owner or not, Cunningham needs to be picked up.
Dennis Johnson - Texans (Owned Percentage – ESPN .4%/Yahoo 11%)
I had advised Ben Tate owners to pick up Johnson before in the event Tate would miss time with his injured ribs. Tate didn't miss the game against the Jaguars, but his injury is starting to show it's effects. During the little time he did play, Tate simply couldn't get anything going on the ground after rushing 7 times for 1 yard. The Jaguars rushing defense isn't that good. Once Tate was sat, Johnson livened up the Texans' running game to the tune of 74 yards (5.7 ypc). We don't know if Tate will be a go against the Patriots in Week 13. The Texans could try to give him at least one week's worth of rest. Even if he does play, those ribs could come back and bother him again. Johnson could be worth a flex option this week regardless of Tate's status.
