There is really only one tight end worth mentioning in this week's Week 14 Waiver Wire Tight Ends article. I know some will wonder why I don't list Eagles TE Zach Ertz after he caught 2 touchdowns against the Cardinals. But the one thing you have to look at when listing any players is consistency. Can you really trust Ertz against the Lions? I don't. Before Week 13, Ertz had 2 fantasy-worthy games: Weeks 2 and 9. Yeah he had a big game against Arizona, but Ertz only played on 38 of the Eagles' 78 snaps. No thanks.

Ladarius Green - Chargers
Green has now tallied back-to-back touchdowns, but he still isn't worth starting. Not even as a flex option. Why do I list Green? For dynasty league owners. Antonio Gates is starting to fade, with injuries slowly taking their toll. Some might disagree, but the Chargers could cut bait on Gates in the offseason. Whether it be through a trade or cut outright. Gates is due a total of almost $11 million between 2014 and 2015. I am sure the team wants to get younger at the position. And since the tight end is a big part of their offense, giving Green a chance to start next season is a good way to get him more involved. If you look at Green's physique, the guy is a beast. 6'6, 238 pounds and as athletic as Gates was in his younger days. Outside of dynasty leagues, Green could be worth a shot in 16 team leagues. But until Gates goes down for good, Green will be nothing more than a bit player. And that's too risky for owners this time of year.
