Week 7 Waiver Wire Picks – Wide Receiver

October 19, 2015 by Brendan Cole

There were a lot of big performances in week 6, one of those was the triumphant return of Martavis Bryant. If you kept him stashed on your bench or were lucky enough to pick him up, you are reaping the rewards now. This is what the waiver wire is all about, grabbing a guy at the right time and giving your team a big boost. Let's get into what under-owned players should be picked up before week 7.

Week 6 Recap (Standard League Points)

  • Willie Snead NO - 5 pts
  • Kamar Aiken BAL - 8 pts
  • Doug Baldwin SEA - 2 pts
  • Recommend Against Andre Johnson - 3 pts

Snead is legit, definitely hang onto him as bigger things are coming. Aiken looks like he has carved out a niche for himself as well and he should be a decent WR3/Flex moving on. Baldwin is hit or miss, especially since Jimmy Graham finally showed up for the Seahawks. Andre Johnson is back to his role as the third or fourth option for Andrew Luck.

Teams On A Bye Week 7: Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Green Bay

Week 7 Waiver Wire: Running Back / Quarterback and Tight End

Week 7 Picks

Stefon Diggs MIN

Diggs looks like he could be the real thing, pick him up.
Diggs looks like he could be the real thing, pick him up.

Minnesota's passing game is not exactly prolific, but Diggs has been putting up points over the last two weeks. He seems to be developing a nice rapport with Teddy Bridgewater and there are no signs that it should slow down. In the last two games, Diggs has three catches of over 20 yards. He is a legitimate deep threat and also has been seeing a high volume of passes. Grab this guy now, he is only owned in 3 percent of leagues.

Rishard Matthews MIA

Matthews is a top-25 receiver so far this season, but is owned in less than 50 percent of fantasy leagues. After a down week, Matthews caught 6 passes for 85 yards in week six. The Dolphins offense should improve under their new coaching regime as Lamar Miller is intergrated back into the offense. This will mean a more effective play action game and hopefully better all around stats. Matthews has been a big part of the passing game all season long and should be a beneficiary if the 'fins can get things going. Next week Houston comes to town and a fair amount of scoring should be expected, Matthews has a good chance to get in on the action and profiles as a decent flex.

Lance Moore DET

It must be getting close to Halloween, because we have a fantasy zombie. Lance Moore, the once prolific Saints receiver, is rising from the dead in Detroit. Moore has scored in back to back weeks and went over 100 yards receiving in week 6. The next two matchups feature Minnesota and Kansas City and should afford Moore a fair amount of opportunities to help fantasy owners. The running game is not getting better anytime soon, so if the Lions want to win Stafford will have to keep slinging the ball every week.

Don't Get Crazy - Torrey Smith SF

Smith had his second big receiving game of the season on Sunday versus his former team in Baltimore. While this could be seen as a sign of things to come, I don't see it that way. Smith has always been a boom or bust option, but now his quarterback is as well. Kaepernick has had a rough year and matchups with Seattle, St. Louis and Arizona aren't likely to make things easier for Kaepernick or Smith. Sell on Torrey Smith, all day.
