After another big week for the young wide receivers, plenty of fantasy owners are feeling great about their waiver pickups. The book on wide receivers used to be hold off until the third year, but no more. The rules of the modern NFL have made it easier for rookies to put up big numbers right off the bat. If you missed out on the big name young guns, don't worry there are still plenty of options on the waiver wire.
Week 7 Recap (Standard League Points)
- Stefon Diggs MIN - 16 pts
- Rishard Matthews MIA - 13 pts
- Lance Moore DET - 0 pts
- Recommend Against: Torrey Smith SF - 0 pts
Stefon Diggs has the makings of a fantasy monster and his presence makes Teddy Bridgewater almost worthy of starting. I continue to recommend Rishard Matthews, he has been a very underrated option this season. Lance Moore seems to have exhausted his short-lived utility, cut bait. Torrey Smith and the Niners will not do anything against better defenses, Seattle dominated them in every facet of the game.
Teams On A Bye Week 8: Buffalo, Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Washington
Week 8 Picks
Hopefully this one will not come back to bite me like Lance Moore. It looks like Amendola is finally healthy enough to be the player that the Patriots had envisioned him as. Two very strong weeks in a row have Amendola looking like a decent WR2 or WR3 moving forward. Tom Brady seems like he has something to prove this year and any share of the Patriots passing game is a worthwhile commodity. Grab Amendola and play the matchups.
Remember all of the hype surrounding Adams after the injury to Jordy Nelson? Well Adams is expected to return to the football field on Sunday and hopefully start making good on the talk. Week 8 going up against the tough Broncos defense is certainly not the time to get Adams back into lineups, but if someone in your league gave up and dropped him pick him up. If he can stay healthy, Adams should start producing like most players who have Aaron Rodgers throwing them the football.
Nate Washington HOU
With Arian Foster done for the year, the Texans will have to pass even more than they have been. Washington returned from injury in a big way in week 7 and should be a solid target as long as he can stay healthy. Make no mistake this is DeAndre Hopkins's show, but Washington looks like he may be the number two target at this point. You could do worse for a bye week fill in.
Just In Case: DeSean Jackson WAS
Jackson will be on a bye for week 8, but he is currently available in about 30 percent of leagues. With his likely return in week 9, now is the time to troll the waiver wire and see if you can pick up this gamebreaker. If Kirk Cousins can stay on target as he was last week, Jackson could pay serious dividends during the second half of the season. Make the move now if he is available.
