The San Francisco 49ers pass rusher surrendered to authorities Tuesday night in connection with a felony weapons charges, Santa Clara County authorities confirmed. Smith immediately posted $75,000 in bail after he was processed. Source: NFL.com DaBears22's Take: Smith has a court date late November for his DUI charge and depending on how that goes along with the felony weapons charges, can he realistically play this year for the Niners? Assuming he can play this year after all the legal stuff is taken care of, looks like the earliest game he'll be in is Nov 25th at Washington.
The defense has really stepped up without him, but hopefully he gets on the field at some point this year.
