While 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh suggested Monday that linebacker NaVorro Bowman could return to the practice field this week, Bowman told ESPN's Ed Werder on Sunday that he's still experiencing pain in his surgically repaired left knee. "Spoke to @NBowman53 Sunday. He said still having some knee pain recovering from major surgery, unsure when he would be cleared to practice," Werder tweeted Tuesday morning. Once Bowman returns to practice, the 49ers have a 21-day evaluation period in which they must activate him. "We'll see. (Tuesday) will be a big day and we'll see if that window gets open to start practicing," Harbaugh said. "He has been doing some cutting and cutting pretty darn well. So we'll see." http://www.mercurynews.com/portal/4...wman-still-experiencing-knee-pain?_loopback=1
What a monumental mistake it would be if he was brought back too soon just because he says he can play. Pain is not a normal healthy indication.
