According to Ian Rapoport, 49ers linebacker Parys Haralson agreed to a new contract worth $1.3 million with incentives that could boost it to $1.7 million. He was previously on the books for $2.87 million in 2013.

Haralson missed all of last season with a torn triceps muscle, and was a strong candidate to be a cap casualty. He likely recognize that he would be looking at no more than the veteran's minimum if he was released. Furthermore, the 49ers could use a veteran outside linebacker to help spell Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks.
