Agent Says Donovan McNabb Is "Fine" Despite Trade Rumors

Discussion in 'Philadelphia Eagles' started by BigBlueBruiser, Mar 27, 2010.

  1. Agent Fletcher Smith told The News Journal on Friday that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb has become accustomed to trade speculation surrounding him over the years, especially since the Eagles drafted Kevin Kolb in 2007, and isn't fretting the recent spout of rumors. "He's fine," Smith said. "He's working out and getting ready for next year." But Smith is smart enough to know this offseason isn't a carbon copy of the past ones and that coach Andy Reid's recent comments that the Eagles are entertaining offers for all three quarterbacks signal that McNabb's 11-year tenure in Philadelphia could be nearing its end. An Associated Press report, citing an unnamed league source, said the Eagles wouldn't accept anything lower than at least one of the top 42 picks in next month's draft and another report followed, from ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli, that said the Raiders are open to dealing All-Pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to the Eagles straight up for McNabb.
