The Chicago Bears have made the first move to bring back one of their own free agents, signing defensive tackle Nate Collins to a one-year contract.

Collins was a restricted free agent, and the Bears opted not to tender him at the low amount of $1.323 million, making him unrestricted. They wanted him back after a solid season, and he signed for the minimum of $715,000 after exploring options.

Collins provides needed depth on the interior as general manager Phil Emery said the team will be releasing fellow tackle Matt Toeaina. That leaves Collins as the only reserve right now behind starters Henry Melton and Stephen Paea.
