The Chicago Bears have terminated the contract of wide receiver Johnny Knox according to the Chicago Tribune.

Knox suffered a severe back injury in a game against the Seattle Seahawks late in the 2011 season and hasn't played since.

In three seasons (2009-11) with the Bears, Knox had 133 receptions for 2,214 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Is he healthy now or is his career over because of that injury? That would be a shame to see him retire in that manner.

I heard he was coming along pretty good but the risk factor's just too great for his build & the type of injury. He's another pretzel tackle from inheriting Darryl Stingley's chair.

    Kinda expected it TBH...

It sucks to see any athletes career end like this. He would have been a pretty good 4th reliable WR for the Bears to have behind Marshall, Jeffery, and Bennett.
